Silchrome Plating: Investment in Processes

xylan coating silchromesulfamate nickelmolykote coating

In the last four years Silchrome Plating have been investing heavily in order to upgrade our service and offering and make us more efficient. One area that directly benefits our customers is our investment into new processes. With any new process it’s important for us not only to ensure we have the right facilities to carry them out, but also the right technical understanding and quality procedures to ensure consistent results. Our investment in the last four years has seen us offer the following additional processes:

Xylan: Xylan coating is popular with subsea applications. It’s a brand name that covers a number of different of coatings but generally Xylan contains PTFE and will enhance your components through high corrosion and chemical resistance. Xylan is available in a number of colours and we offer black, blue, red and green.

Molykote: Molykote is a dry lubricant with Molybdenum Disulphide at its base. It’s a low friction coating that can operate at a wide temperature range and will protect components against corrosion.

Sulphamate Nickel: Sulphamate nickel uses a 99.9% pure nickel deposit to create a machinable nickel coating. It’s a low cost coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance and can be used to rebuild worn parts.

Paint & Powder Coating: Silchrome have invested heavily in order to provide both wet spray painting and powder coating. We are able to provide thick powder coatings that are uniform and smooth.

High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel: We have been able to extend our electroless offering with High Phosphorus Nickel. This contain between 10-12% phosphorus and will offer an increased corrosion and hardness. As this process is lead and cadmium free it meets WEEE and Rohss regulation.

As we continue to grow and invest we are always looking for which coatings can best suit our customers and are open to suggestions about how we can best suit your needs. All of our processes are carried out in our production facility in Leeds, West Yorkshire and we are fully ISO qualified. Get in touch today!
