Features of Iridite NCP

Iridite NCPIridite NCP SIlchrome Platingiridite ncp coating

Iridite NCP is a conversion coating. This means that unlike Electroplating where a metal coating is applied on top of the base material, during the process of applying Iridite NCP, the base metal will interact with the chemical creating a coating both above and below the surface.

Environmental: Iridite NCP meets ELV, RoHS and WEEE directives and is more environmentally friendly then other coatings. It is free of Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, Chromium and PBB/PBDE compounds.

Under-Coat: Iridite NCP is often used as an undercoat for other processes. It can provide excellent adhesion for paints, sealants and adhesives as well as other plating processes.

Corrosion Resistance: Iridite NCP provides a good level of corrosion resistance as a standalone process. It can provide most aluminium alloys with over 100 hours of protection in standardised salt spray tests.

Temperture: Iridite NCP is resistant to temperatures of up to 350°c.

Conductivity: Iridite NCP provides a good level of electrical conductivity, which is comparable with conventional chromate coatings, so it is the perfect pre-treatment system for most electrical grounding applications

Process Specifications: Iridite NCP meets a number of process specifications including: MIL-C5541 Class III and Defence Standard 03-38

What Silchrome Offer: Silchrome Plating can provide Iridite NCP coatings for components up to 650 x 500 x 605 mm. All of our processes are carried out in house in our modern manufacturing facility in Leeds. Get in touch today for a no obligation quote.
