Electroless Nickel is widely used throughout the Oil and Gas Industry due to its uniform coating, excellent corrosion resistance and ability to act as a protective barrier against abrasion. There are three key areas in which Oil and Gas components must operate: Surface Operations, Downhole Operations and Offshore Operations.

Conditions

Oli and Gas components need to be able to perform for a long period of time under often extreme conditions. These components could be exposed to Chlorides, Carbon Dioxide, Brines, Sea Water, Reef Water as well as Hydrogen Sulphide. In some cases components must function at high temperatures and may be subject to wear through sand or mud.

Suitable for:

Downtime in Oil and Gas is extremely costly, so extending part life is a key criteria for any coating that is applied, its also important that this is done in a cost effective manner. Typical parts that can be protected with ENP include:

Surface Operation Parts such as Brake Assemblies, Gas Turbines, Chokes, Compressors, Gas Turbines, Pump Housing and Valves.

Downhole Parts such as Logging Tools, Plungers, Packers, Pumps, Safety Valves, Tubing and Couplings.

Offshore Parts such as Gas Turbines, Gas Compressors, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Riser Connectors and Blowout preventors.
