Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Silchrome Plating Ltd, Barras Garth Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS12 4JW

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:45AM-4:30PM, Friday 7:45am-3:00pm

Pay Rate: £20k+

About You: We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician with a 3+ years’ experience, preferably within the metal finishing industry. We are looking for someone with a professional outlook, strong communication skills and of course a close attention to detail. Degree education, you should also have knowledge of MS office tools such as Excel and Word. Should have a sound understanding of Plating specs and writing the internal procedures that comply.

About The Role: The role involves much more than just your typical lab work. As a sub-contract metal finisher, Silchrome have a wide range of different processes, lines and specifications to work to. As such this role involves rigorous testing and process control over the bath chemistry and related analytical equipment. Troubleshooting and correct machinery/processing issues. Ensuring all paperwork associated with chemical checks and safety is up to date.

Job Title: Paint Sprayer

Job Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:45AM-4:30PM, Friday 7:45am-3:00pm

Pay Rate: £10 an hour

About You: Silchrome Plating work on a wide range of industrial/engineering components so a background in this sort of industry is an advantage. We are seeking a tried and trusted Paint Sprayer with solid experience and sound understanding of pre-treatment, mixing ratios and curing times. Ability to understand technical drawings is an advantage.

About The Role:

Working to a wide variety of customer specifications, the role involves full spraying of varied components. This includes pre-treatment and preparation of the components, spraying of various wet paints and specialist spray-on coatings as well as finishing in curing ovens. Paint Sprayer should have full knowledge of process steps required to achieve a variety of finishes, mixing ratios and be able to carry out an initial inspection to ensure paint thickness and gloss levels are correct.

Pay Rate: £9 an hour depending on experience

About You: We are seeking a conscientious and hardworking individual with high attention to detail.  Experience within manufacturing or a production environment is essential and experience of metal finishing, and ability to understand technical drawings is an advantage.

About The Role: We aim to make our production roles as varied as possible and as such you may be asked to work on a number of different lines/processes. The day to day of the job involves racking/jigging components, operating metal finishing equipment, checking plating thickness and initial quality checks. Due to the nature of the chemicals involved with some of our processes, working within strict health and safety procedures is crucial and alongside this ensuring good housekeeping within the factory is also a must.
